Casino Shift ManagerThe Casino Shift Manager is responsible for providing direction and leadership in all aspects of the casino or facility operation during their assigned shift. The Casino Shift Manager, or CSM, will act as the senior manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager and/or other members of the Leadership team. During these periods the CSM will be a point-of-contact for department managers and below on issues that could have an immediate financial impact or result in negative guest perception about Warm Springs Casino Enterprises, including both Indian Head Casino and the Plateau Travel Plaza. QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities: The Casino Shift Manager is responsible for providing direction and leadership in all operational aspects of the casino or facility during their assigned shift. The Casino Shift Manager, or CSM, acts as the senior manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager or, for the PTP, the PTP Director. Responsible for oversight of the casino/facility operations to ensure efficiency and quality of service, while ensuring compliance and cost-effective management of resources. The CSM focuses on Table Games, Slots, Security, Food & Beverage, Custodial and Maintenance, and Retail areas of both IHC and PTP during their assigned shift. The CSM maintains a consistent presence in the casino areas for purposes of supervising and observing floor staff, ensuring the highest level of guest service, adhering to safety and security procedures, and compliance with all applicable tribal, state, and federal gaming laws and regulations. Consults data and records to identify and select potential candidates for vacant positions. Responds to and resolves guest or employee issues or complaints that have been escalated to the senior management level. If the guest is dissatisfied with the response from the immediate supervisor or manager, the CSM is authorized to step in and attempt to resolve the issue. The CSM assists in improving staff effectiveness by coaching, counseling, training, and recommending disciplinary action for employees, delegating and monitoring job tasks and results in a timely manner. The CSM assists front line staff and management personnel in handling issues that surface throughout their assigned shift. Participates in Compliance activities to help ensure compliance with all aspects of Title 31/BSA. Adheres to established safety practices and standards. Ensures that all WSCE personnel follow established safety practices and standards. Ensures compliance with IGRA, Tribal-State Compact, Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Gaming Regulations, FinCEN requirements and WSCE Internal Controls and Policies and Procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or a mix of education and relevant experience is preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in the gaming industry with at least five (5) years in a Supervisory or Management role is preferred. Training/experience in personnel issues, pay structures, hiring and discipline, development and delegation and handling internal problems and challenges. Must have a strong understanding of gaming operations. Dealer certification required. Competencies: Excellent communications skills are essential. This includes verbal, written and listening skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, management and guests while providing excellent service to internal and external customers. Must maintain strict confidentiality. Must establish and maintain excellent working relationships with employees, department heads, members of the public, regulators, outside auditors and/or vendors. Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems that may have non-standard solutions. Skill in solving practical problems and dealing effectively with situations where only limited standardization exists. Physical Demands: Some lifting and carrying is required. Lifting items weighing as much as 60 pounds may be required, but this should occur rarely, i.e., less than 15% of the time. This position requires reaching, manipulating and keyboard operation (typing). This position requires sitting, stooping, standing, bending, and walking. This position requires intense and exacting mental and visual attention. Working Conditions: This job requires working in areas where the noise level is high, where there is secondhand tobacco smoke while performing intense, complex, and very involved tasks with major financial responsibility. Must observe and comply with all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of all safety equipment provided. Must always practice safety. Special Requirements: Must maintain a valid Oregon driver's license. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must submit to and pass a drug/alcohol screening test. Must submit to and pass an Oregon State background investigation. Proven gaming license eligibility preferred.
