We are seeking up to three skilled Controls Engineers with extensive experience in Siemens PLCs and HMI systems, specifically within General Motors (GM) facilities. The selected candidates will be responsible for working on a critical one-year project based onsite in Romulus, MI. This role demands in-depth knowledge of the FACS systems, including SiFACS or GFACS, which are GM powertrain standards. Candidates must be strong in programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing Siemens PLC and HMI systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Siemens PLC and HMI systems to support powertrain manufacturing processes in accordance with GM standards. Utilize experience with FACS systems, specifically SiFACS or GFACS, to integrate and manage factory automation controls. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to PLC and HMI systems. Participate in the testing, commissioning, and optimization of control systems to ensure seamless operation and compliance with GM's powertrain requirements. Provide ongoing technical support and training to onsite personnel to enhance understanding and efficient use of control systems. Ensure adherence to all GM standards and safety regulations while maintaining high-quality controls engineering practices. Qualifications: Proven experience in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Siemens PLC and HMI systems. Demonstrated expertise with GM powertrain control standards, particularly with Factory Automation Control Systems (FACS) such as SiFACS and GFACS. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and control issues. Ability to work onsite at the Romulus, MI facility for the duration of the one-year project. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and production staff. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and a dynamic work environment. Preferred Experience: Previous experience working in GM powertrain facilities is highly desirable. Experience in implementing or maintaining FACS systems across various GM sites. Familiarity with GM's production processes, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
