Cultural Arts Program Administrator

Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, supervises and evaluates projects and programs in support of the activities of the Office of Cultural Arts Division; liaises with the Arts! Longview Board of Directors to achieve goals and objectives; coordinates and administers grant funding, fund-raising initiatives and donated revenues for all related events and programs; organizes and oversees volunteer events; prepares and submits various types of program records and reports and performs other related duties as assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides management of all aspects of The Office of Cultural Arts such as budget preparation, monthly reporting, public affairs, media outreach and relations, fund raising, Hotel Occupancy Tax grant distribution, special gifts, and membership programs. Performs as liaison between the board members of Arts! Longview and the City of Longview; maintains a working relationship with community agencies and organizations. Works with Arts! Longview Board and volunteers to ensure coordinated support of the programs, objectives and mission. Works closely with City Departments to achieve Community/Arts! Longview goals and objectives. Plans and stages reward/recognition programs to provide incentives for the core arts entities in Longview Represents the City at the statewide and national levels through various related and professional organizations. Recruits and develops a strong, broad-based organizational structure, including representation and input from all segments of the community and works closely with Cultural Activities Advisory Commission along with the Director of Community Services Administration..Coordinates efforts per the City of Longview’s Comprehensive Plan.Plans, coordinates, implements and promotes a public education and communication initiative regarding cultural programming events and festivals as well as outreach initiatives. Prepares required reports for the cultural district and Texas Commission on the ArtsInteracts with citizens, program participants, vendors, and contractors regarding various program matters; assists in mediating and resolving program issues and complaints. Interprets, applies, and monitors local, State, and Federal legislation, regulations, rules, and guidelines pertaining to program activities.Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Work is performed in a standard office environment and occasionally in the field.Subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.Occasional exposure to variable weather conditions
