platformsUnderstand how modern applications leverage AWS-managed services and event-driven architectures to process, transform, and deliver healthcare data reliably and securely Design, build, and maintain Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interfaces (RESTful APIs) and backend services that retrieve, transform, and serve healthcare Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and transactional dataBuild and integrate cloud-native application services within an AWS-hosted environmentDesign and implement event-driven and asynchronous workflows using AWS-managed services and messaging patternsIntegrate with internal platform APIs, EDI processing pipelines, and cloud-based data services to deliver line and historical transaction data reliably and efficientlyDevelop application integrations leveraging AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, S3, EventBridge, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and ECS/EKSWrite clean, testable, and well-documented code and participate actively in peer code viewsPerform unit and integration testing across backend services and API layerApply and promote modern software engineering best practices within an Agile development environmentUse Git/GitHub for version control, branching strategies, pull requests, and collaborative developmentRequired Skills and ExperienceExperience with back-end development using languages such as .Net/C#, Go, Python, Java, or NodeJSA demonstrated understanding of AWS-native application patterns and cloud integrations8+ years of software development experience, specifically with back-end engineeringExperience developing cloud-native applications within AWS environmentsExperience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare, enterprise, or distributed-system environmentsProven experience building back-end services that process and deliver structured healthcare or EDI dataExperience working with asynchronous messaging, event-driven systems, or distributed application workflowsHands-on experience developing applications that interact with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatchExperience designing cloud-native APIs and distributed application interactionsExperience building applications that consume and transform structured data formats including JSON, XML, and EDI transactionsExperience working with healthcare EDI data formats and transaction processing workflowsAn understanding of distributed-system concepts such as retries and idempotency, asynchronous processing, fault tolerance, and service resiliencyExperience with unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, xUnit, Jest, pytest, or equivalent)Proficiency with Git and GitHub collaborative development practicesAn ability to evaluate when AI-assisted code generation is appropriate and when manual engineering judgment, validation, security review, or deeper analysis is requiredAn understanding of the limitations, risks,
