Our engineers work on a range of systems across the stack, including generative AI, RAG, query understanding, document understanding, domain-adapted language models, natural language question-answering, evaluation, and experimentation. We interact regularly with customers to understand their pain points and solve their problems with appropriate tooling.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and improve ML systems and data pipelines infrastructureCollaborate with other ML engineers focused on modelingWrite robust, readable, maintainable, and testable codeMentor junior engineers or learn from experienced teammatesQualifications5+ years of experienceBA/BS in computer science, math, sciences, or a related fieldExperience with ML infrastructure for search, recommendation, NLP, or related areasProven ability to design, build, and ship production-ready software, ideally around ML infrastructure (pipelines, serving, GenAI)Strong experience with Apache Spark and building, scaling, and operating large batch data pipelinesThrives in a customer-focused, cross-functional environment; a collaborative team playerProactive, positive, and able to lead, learn, troubleshoot, and own both small tasks and large featuresLocationHybrid role (3-4 days a week in one of our SF Bay Area offices)Compensation and BenefitsThe standard base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $280,000 annually. Compensation may include variable compensation, equity, and benefits depending on location, level, knowledge, skills, and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, generous time-off, and 401k with company matching. Additional stipends include a home office improvement allowance and annual education and wellness stipends.
