The successful candidate will step into an established classroom and ensure continuity of instruction, strong classroom culture, and meaningful academic support for all students.This role requires an educator who can implement curriculum effectively, maintain clear expectations for students, and collaborate with colleagues to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver daily instruction aligned to the school's curriculum and pacing calendarMaintain a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic growthProvide targeted instructional support for English Language Learners (ELL) and students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in IEPs and support language development strategies for multilingual learnersAssess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families when appropriateMaintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and student workCollaborate with grade level teams, ENL teachers, and special education staff to support student learningUphold school expectations for culture, professionalism, and student accountabilityCommunicate regularly with school leadership regarding instructional progress and student needsQualificationsBachelor's degree requiredPrior classroom teaching or substitute teaching experience preferredAbility to implement accommodations for students with IEPs and support ENL learnersStrong classroom management and organizational skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students and staff quicklyAbout Inwood Academy for LeadershipInwood Academy for Leadership Charter School is a charter school serving students in grades K - 2, 5 - 12 in New York City.
