Position Description Position Overview (Temporary Role Ending June 24, 2026) Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School (IAL) Middle School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Temporary Leave Replacement Teacher to support instruction through the remainder of the school year. The successful candidate will step into an established classroom and ensure continuity of instruction, strong classroom culture, and meaningful academic support for all students. This role requires an educator who can implement curriculum effectively, maintain clear expectations for students, and collaborate with colleagues to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners. Key Responsibilities Deliver daily instruction aligned to the school's curriculum and pacing calendar Maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic growth Provide targeted instructional support for English Language Learners (ELL) and students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in IEPs and support language development strategies for multilingual learners Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families when appropriate Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and student work Collaborate with grade level teams, ENL teachers, and special education staff to support student learning Uphold school expectations for culture, professionalism, and student accountability Communicate regularly with school leadership regarding instructional progress and student needs Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Prior classroom teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred Ability to implement accommodations for students with IEPs and support ENL learners Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff quickly About Inwood Academy for Leadership Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School is a charter school serving students in grades K - 2, 5 - 12 in New York City.
