Linux/Unix - Platform EngineerLocation: Cincinnati, OH - Day 1 onsiteWe are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Platform & Production Support Engineer to manage and support enterprise-grade applications and infrastructure in a 24x7 environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java application support, Linux/UNIX systems, SQL, patching, and monitoring tools like Dynatrace. A foundational understanding of ETL processes is essential to ensure seamless operations across data pipelines and batch jobs.Key Responsibilities:Provide L1 and L2 production support for Java-based applications and backend platformsMonitor system health and performance using Dynatrace, SiteScope, and SplunkInvestigate and resolve ETL job abends, performance bottlenecks, and system alertsPerform root cause analysis, document findings, and implement preventive actionsExecute SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and reportingProvide hands-on support for Linux/UNIX environments, including shell scripting and log analysisManage patching activities across application and infrastructure layersSupport WebSphere Application Server (WAS) deployments and configurationsCoordinate certificate renewals, release deployments, and post-patching validationsMaintain runbooks, SOPs, and escalation matrices to ensure operational consistencyCollaborate with development, infrastructure, and client teams to drive issue resolution and service improvementsRequired Skills & Qualifications:7–8 years of experience in production support and platform engineeringStrong hands-on experience with Java application support, Linux/UNIX, and SQLProficient in Dynatrace, SiteScope, and Splunk for monitoring and diagnosticsExperience managing patching cycles, certificate renewals, and release coordinationBasic understanding of ETL workflows, job dependencies, and data movementFamiliarity with WAS administration and troubleshootingStrong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work independently and lead incident resolution across teamsPreferred Qualifications:ITIL Foundation or equivalent certificationExperience in financial services or regulated industriesExposure to automation tools (e.g.
