This travel nurse job is ideal for RNs with step-down or telemetry experience seeking professional growth in Eastern North Carolina./n/n/nJob Details/n/nJob Title: Travel RN – PCU Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit Nurse/nLocation: Greenville, NC 27834 (Eastern North Carolina travel nursing)/nUnit: TSIU – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down/nAssignment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse/nContract Length: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 28, 2026)/nShift: 12-hour nights (Night Shift)/nHours per Week: 36/nEstimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $1,960/nStaffing Ratio: 1:4 RN-to-patient (pod format; assignments by acuity)/nOpenings: 1/n/n/nRequired Qualifications/n/nActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or valid Compact RN license (North Carolina nursing jobs)/nBLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)/nMinimum 1 year recent PCU, step-down, or telemetry RN experience/nAbility to read and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry/nEPIC charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience)/nPrior travel nursing experience preferred/nMust pass Relias exams upon booking (2 attempts allowed)/nMust meet 80-mile local radius rule/nAll requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to assignment confirmation; no blocked scheduling permitted/n/n/nCore Responsibilities/n/nProvide safe, evidence-based progressive care nursing for a diverse PCU patient population, including acute stroke, post-neurosurgical, seizure, multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome cases/nPerform and document focused assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) when indicated/nManage invasive devices: arterial lines, central lines, tracheostomies, and lumbar drains; assist with lumbar punctures/nInitiate IVs, perform peripheral and arterial blood draws, and administer IV drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) per protocols/nProvide continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry surveillance; escalate changes in condition per hospital policy/nWork within a pod-based care model, coordinating multidisciplinary care and communicating patient status changes to the team/nMaintain accurate EPIC charting and documentation to support quality patient care and compliance/n/n/nWhy Join This Travel Nursing Role?/n/nHands-on progressive care experience with complex, high-acuity patients/nCompetitive weekly pay for travel RN positions in North Carolina/nOpportunity for professional growth and mentorship within a collaborative PCU team/nExperience living and working in Greenville, NC — easy access to outdoor recreation and a vibrant downtown/n/n/nApply today to join our supportive healthcare team as a PCU Registered Nurse in Greenville, NC.
