Compensation & LocationLocation: Marysville, OHPay Range: $67.00 – $74.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity)Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term opportunityWork Type: Hybrid (onsite presence required)Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k, Continuing and on-demand education📍 Must be willing to work onsite in Marysville, OH✅ Sponsorship is available for this role‼️ ONLY W2 – NO CORP to CORP – NO 3rd PartiesPosition OverviewWe are seeking a DB2 Mainframe DBA to support enterprise database systems in a high-availability environment.This role focuses on performance tuning, system optimization, and database administration for DB2 on z/OS, supporting critical production systems and large-scale enterprise applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Administration & Performance TuningMonitor and optimize DB2 subsystem performance (CPU, I/O, buffer pools, locking, queries)Perform SQL tuning, index optimization, and query performance enhancementsIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecksMonitoring & TroubleshootingUtilize tools such as Omegamon, EXPLAIN, RMF, and SMF to monitor system healthSet up alerts and proactively identify risks and performance issuesTroubleshoot and resolve production database issuesDatabase Maintenance & UpgradesPlan and execute DB2 maintenance including PTFs, service packs, and version upgradesPerform database utilities and maintenance activitiesEnsure high availability, reliability, and system stabilityCollaboration & Application SupportWork with application teams to understand requirements and recommend solutionsAct as the primary DBA contact for onboarding, upgrades, and enhancementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams on enterprise projectsCompliance & SecurityEnsure adherence to SOX, audit, and database security best practicesMaintain documentation and support compliance-related activitiesRequired Qualifications5–10 years of hands-on DB2 for z/OS DBA experience in enterprise environmentsStrong experience with performance tuning, SQL optimization, and database utilitiesExperience supporting critical production systems with high availability requirementsStrong knowledge of DB2 z/OS architecture, subsystems, logging, and recoveryExperience with monitoring tools such as OmegamonUnderstanding of z/OS concepts (datasets, JCL, batch processing, scheduling)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong collaboration and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working in manufacturing or similar enterprise environmentsExperience supporting large-scale projects and cross-functional teamsStrong knowledge of audit processes and compliance frameworks3+ years of Big 4 consulting experienceStable work history within large enterprise organizations
