Proper Hospitality is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Operations & Transformation to join our corporate team in Los Angeles.Position OverviewThe Vice President, Portfolio Operations & Transformation is the senior operating leader accountable for portfolio wide hotel performance. This role has direct ownership of the Collective hotels and portfolio level operating authority across Proper and By Proper, ensuring consistent execution, strong GM performance, and disciplined delivery of results. This role owns operating outcomes, not operating infrastructure.In addition, this role is responsible for portfolio operational performance and leading cross-functional transformation initiatives that improve operating leverage, workflow efficiency, and margin across Proper's platform, including:Redesigning cross-functional workflowsImproving property-level operational performanceEmbedding AI and automation where it drives ROIReducing coordination friction and unnecessary headcount growthCore ResponsibilitiesCollective Hotels, Direct OwnershipDirectly manage and develop all Collective hotel General ManagersOwn Collective portfolio P&L performance and operating resultsServe as primary owner facing executive for Collective assetsLead stabilization, turnaround, and recovery effortsSet expectations, enforce standards, and make GM and senior leadership changes decisivelyPortfolio Oversight, Proper and By ProperHold portfolio level accountability for Proper and By Proper operating performanceEnsure consistent execution of brand, guest experience, and operating standardsIntervene directly when execution, culture, or results deteriorateProvide operating leadership during critical moments including openings, disruptions, or major initiativesGM Leadership and Talent OutcomesOwn GM performance outcomes across the portfolioCoach, develop, and retain high performing operatorsAddress underperformance quickly and decisivelyBuild succession depth and reduce key person riskCross Functional Operating LeadershipPartner with Finance, Commercial, HR, Culinary, Brand, and the SVP of F&B to ensure operating plans are executableAlign operational capacity with revenue, marketing, and growth initiativesServe as final operational decision maker during escalations and crisesExecution and Results FocusTranslate enterprise priorities into clear operating expectationsEnsure properties deliver results aligned with financial, guest experience, and brand objectivesHold leaders accountable for outcomes, not effortOutcome AccountabilityThe Vice President, Portfolio Operations is accountable for:Portfolio operating performance and execution qualityCollective hotel financial and operating resultsGM performance, retention, and succession readinessOwner confidence and credibility across the CollectiveTimely and effective response to operational risks and escalationsBoundaries of the RoleDoes not own enterprise operating systems or SOP architectureDoes not manage corporate process or cadenceDoes not serve as a staff or coordination roleAuthority is derived from ownership of outcomesProfile and Experience12 to 15 plus years senior hotel operations experienceProven multi unit leadership with direct GM accountabilityDemonstrated P&L ownershipStrong owner facing credibilityExperience operating complex, mixed quality, or turnaround portfoliosDecisive leadership style with low tolerance for sustained underperformanceComfortable operating as second in command without egoReporting LineReports to COO;
