DevSecOps Architect
Overview
As a DevSecOps Architect , you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud and application development. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevSecOps practices such as build/release management, CI/CD practices, and process automation. You will act as both technical visionary and be responsible for hands‑on delivery.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
Automating and improving development, testing, deployment, and release processes
Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
Performing root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components
Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and “fixes”
Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Supporting enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large‑scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD
Documenting as‑is state of the environment, performing a gap analysis, and producing artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
Leveraging virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
Acting as an individual contributor and mentor team members
Engineering and implementing solutions and providing recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
Presenting regular status updates and providing cross‑training to other DevOps team members
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT‑related field and 10+ years of experience
8+ years of experience with one or more clouds (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
8+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
8+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
8+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps practices within an Agile development environment
3+ years of experience implementing containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
8+ years of experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
8+ years of experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, TravisCI
Experience implementing and managing industry‑standard DevSecOps tools across the SDLC
Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD pipelines
Preferred:
MS Degree in an IT‑related field
Certifications
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
SAFe DevOps Certification
Experience implementing automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
Experience with documenting an as‑is state of the environment, performing a gap analysis, and producing artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
Experience with scripting in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
Compensation
Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position. Annual salary is just one aspect of Steampunk’s total compensation package for employees.
