Full Stack Engineer

Title: Full Stack EngineerLocation: DC Metro AreaTarget Start Date: ASAPType: contractPayRate: $65hr - $75hr.We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and enhance scalable enterprise applications. This role requires strong Java and modern frontend development expertise, hands-on AWS experience, and a commitment to automated testing and high-quality software delivery.The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver who can take ownership of complex technical challenges and effectively leverage Generative AI tools to improve productivity throughout the software development lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications and enterprise solutions.Build backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.Develop modern web applications using React or Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies, and performance issues.Apply GenAI tools throughout the SDLC to accelerate development, testing, code reviews, and documentation.Develop and maintain automated testing and regression strategies.Optimize applications for performance, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.Collaborate with Product, Data, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.Participate in code reviews, maintain development standards, and mentor team members.Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure improvements.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of hands-on full-stack software development experience.Strong Java development experience with Spring and Spring Boot.Experience designing microservices and RESTful APIs.Strong frontend development experience with React and/or Angular.Proficiency with TypeScript and modern JavaScript.Experience with relational and NoSQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL, MongoDB, or Spark SQL.Python experience for scripting, automation, or data processing.Hands-on AWS experience with services such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, S3, RDS, Lambda, and EMR.Experience with automated testing tools such as JUnit, Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.Hands-on experience using GenAI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Kiro, or similar solutions.Understanding of how GenAI can support code generation, testing, code reviews, requirements analysis, and documentation.Preferred QualificationsExperience integrating AI/ML or GenAI capabilities into applications.GitLab CI/CD experience.AWS certifications.GenAI or AI-related certifications.What We're Looking ForStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.Proactive approach to adopting AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive complex initiatives through completion.
