Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - $95K + BProminent company of mine is seeking a Senior Accountant that is autonomous but has managed some processes (or indirectly individuals). CPA progress is a plus.ResponsibilitiesThis role serves as a key link between day-to-day accounting operations and senior financial leadership, supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across the organization.General ledger & transaction oversightReview and approve transaction-level activity across accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and general journal entries for accuracy and completenessAct as first-level reviewer for the accounting team, confirming proper coding and documentation of entriesMonitor the general ledger for anomalies, misclassifications, or errors and drive timely resolutionMonthly close & reconciliationsPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts including cash, prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and intercompany balancesInvestigate and clear reconciling items promptly, escalating material issues to senior leadershipOwn and maintain a close checklist to ensure all deliverables meet established deadlinesPrepare and distribute month-end financial schedules and variance analyses for management reviewBudget & forecast supportSupport annual budget preparation by coordinating departmental submissions and consolidating resultsConduct monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis and clearly communicate key drivers to stakeholdersMaintain budget tracking schedules and respond to ad hoc inquiries from department managersQualifications4+ years' of corporate accounting experience; supervising a process or indirectly a person is preferredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experienceCPA a plus
