Your duties will include monitoring the swimming zones, enforcing park policies, and addressing any emergencies that arise. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with exceptional water rescue skills and a passion for outdoor activities to make a meaningful difference in the community.Watch thisvideoto see how Lifeguards make Pennsylvania a better place to work, live and play!DESCRIPTION OF WORK Working as a Lake Erie Lifeguard at Presque Isle State Park involves patrolling, observing, and monitoring visitor activity at swimming areas. Work is conducted from boats, from on-shore stations, and from the water. You will need to recognize when swimmers are in distress and to be able to rescue them using accepted lifesaving techniques. Additionally, you will be expected to utilize first aid, artificial respiration, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Inspection of buoys, ropes, first aid equipment and supplies, and other safety equipment will also be one of your duties.Interested in learning more? The season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Full-time and part-time schedules available Work schedule will vary, 40 hours/ 5 day work week, weekends, holidays and all shifts will be required. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:All employees must obtain a valid Lifeguard Certification issued by the American Red Cross, YMCA, United States Lifesaving Association, or other authority recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Health within 14 days of employment.
