Network and System Administrator

The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the design,implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization's network andsystems infrastructure. This role supports hybrid and cloud-based environments,ensures high availability, and safeguards organizational data through modernsecurity practices. The position leads and maintains disaster recovery andbusiness continuity strategies to ensure rapid restoration of services in the eventof system failures or disruptions. Additionally, this role promotes innovation byevaluating and implementing emerging technologies, improving system efficiencythrough automation, and continuously enhancing IT operations to align withevolving business needs.Key Responsibilities Manage on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure across Windows andmacOS environments. Deploy, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and networksystems. Provide Tier II/III technical support for complex system and networkissues. Administer identity and access management, including role-basedpermissions. Ensure network security, performance, and scalability to meetorganizational needs.Specific Duties:Numerical Listing of the specific duties or performances necessary to carry out theabove mentioned responsibilities.1. Install, configure, test, and maintain servers, SANs, and networkingequipment.Perform and manage secure data backups and recovery processes.Maintain network systems, including VPNs, routers, and wirelessinfrastructure.4. Assist in network architecture design, including hybrid and cloudintegration.5. Provide cross-platform support for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.6. Deploy and manage network hardware, including switches, firewalls, andaccess points.7. Ensure high availability and connectivity for all users, including remotestaff.8. Deliver advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for systemissues.9. Maintain servers, applications, and services across physical and virtualenvironments.Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and security procedures.Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.Conduct system audits and recommend upgrades or optimizations.Monitor network performance using modern monitoring tools anddashboards.Manage user accounts, permissions, and identity lifecycle processes.Test and validate system updates, patches, and deployments.Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge basearticles.17. Configure and maintain Microsoft Active Directory and/or cloud identityservices.Manage endpoint protection systems (firewall, antivirus, EDR/XDR tools).Administer cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).Implement automation using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, orPython.22. Support endpoint management systems (e.g., Intune, JAMF, or similarMDM solutions).23. Implement and maintain zero-trust security models and multi-factorauthentication (MFA).24. Monitor logs and security alerts using SIEM tools and respond toincidents.Support collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).Maintain patch management and vulnerability remediation processes.Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements(e.g., HIPAA, NIST, ISO).28. Participate in IT projects, including system migrations and cloudtransformations.29. Optimize network performance for VoIP, video conferencing, and SaaSapplications.30. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve efficiency andsecurity.Qualifications:Educational requirements, certification or licensing standards, experience and basicknowledge requirements.1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field,or 5+ years of equivalent experience.2. Veteran-friendly employer; military experience and relevant technical training arehighly valued and considered in lieu of traditional experience where applicable.3. Strong experience with Windows Server, macOS, and enterprise networking.4. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).Experience with identity and access management (Active Directory, Azure AD,SSO, MFA).7. Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including network security,endpoint protection, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incidentresponse.8. Experience implementing and maintaining security tools such as firewalls, SIEM,EDR/XDR, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure access solutions.9. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CISControls, etc.).10. Proven ability to drive innovation by evaluating, recommending, andimplementing new technologies, tools, and processes that improve systemperformance, security, and operational efficiency.Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).Knowledge of endpoint management and mobile device management (MDM).Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.Experience supporting remote and hybrid work environments.Familiarity with compliance standards (HIPAA, NIST, ISO).Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Preferred Certifications (Optional) CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CySA+ Cisco CCNA or CCNP VMware Certified Professional (VCP)Powered by JazzHR
