Project Manager
DescriptionAs a Project Manager at GCW, you will provide administrative and technical management on engineering/construction projects, from bid preparation through final acceptance by client. Plan, coordinate, and direct on a variety of projects ranging from large and complicated to small and complex. Supervision of engineering and support personnel is usual at this level, but may often be on a lead and project basis.Essential ResponsibilitiesPrepares and provides oversight of technical studies, submittals, plans and general design for public works, water and wastewater treatment and conveyance, and private developments projects.Develops and supports overall project schedule and ensures engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements.Oversees preparation of engineering calculations and estimates.Participates and coordinates services during construction including attending progress meetings, supervising review of shop drawings, issuing RFI responses, and investigating field changes.Develops, implements, and administers project-engineering procedures.Assists in the proposal process for new contracts, including estimates and project scope.Oversees, reviews, revises, and certifies engineering reports, specifications, and drawings.Oversees work of engineering interns and/or technical staff on project-specific tasks; reviews plans for technical adequacy and constructability.Prepares improvement plans for major utility infrastructure such as pump stations, and lift stations, transmission and interceptors, water and wastewater treatment facilities and unit processes.Oversees the development of special provisions, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesProficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Office, and Project)Experience with water and sewer analysis, reports and design requirements for municipal and private development clientsKnowledge of sewer interceptor and water transmission main infrastructure designExperience with the municipal consulting environmentKnowledge of water and wastewater treatment unit processes and systemsAbility to prepare consulting engineering scope and fee for municipal water and wastewater study and design projects Water/Wastewater DivisionPerform water and sewer analysisPrepare GIS databases and exhibits documenting existing and proposed infrastructuresCondition assessment of sewer facilities and rehab recommendationsImprovement plans for reservoirs, pump stations, and sewer lift stationsImprovement plans for major utility infrastructureSewer and Water Main infrastructure designSewer Capacity StudiesEducation And Experience RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in appropriate engineering discipline. Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment facility design is required. Six (6) to ten (10) years of related experience including municipal water and wastewater treatment facility design, construction administration, pump and lift station design, and municipal engineering experiences is preferred.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsNevada PE or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire. Valid driver’s license.
