Receptionist

We are looking for a dependable Receptionist to support front desk operations at a shelter setting in Redwood City, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, approachable, and comfortable assisting visitors while managing a busy phone line. The person in this role will help create an organized and welcoming environment during weekend coverage and ongoing scheduling needs.Responsibilities:• Welcome guests, residents, and visitors in a courteous manner while serving as the first point of contact at the front desk.• Manage incoming calls through a multi-line phone system, direct inquiries to the appropriate contacts, and relay accurate messages promptly.• Maintain an orderly reception area and support smooth daily operations by handling routine administrative front desk tasks.• Provide clear information to callers and walk-in visitors while responding calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.• Monitor visitor flow and follow site procedures for check-in, communication, and general reception coverage.• Support ongoing weekend and shift-based front desk needs, ensuring reliable coverage during assigned hours.• Previous experience in a receptionist or front desk support role.• Ability to operate a multi-line phone or switchboard system with confidence and accuracy.• Strong verbal communication skills and a detail-oriented, service-oriented approach.• Comfortable handling inbound calls, taking messages, and routing information efficiently.• Dependable attendance and flexibility to work part-time, weekend, or assigned shift schedules.• Ability to remain organized, composed, and attentive in a public-facing environment.TalentMatch®Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
