Safety Intern

The Test Technology Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a motivated Safety Intern to support our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program. This position offers hands-on experience within a federal contracting environment, supporting multiple operational locations with a focus on safety compliance, hazard identification, and day-to-day safety operations. The role is based at our Kirtland Air Force Base location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with facility and site safety inspections across multiple locationsSupport hazard identification, risk evaluation, and risk acceptance documentationMaintain and restock first aid supplies and safety equipmentTrack and organize safety-related inventoryAssist with documentation, reporting, and basic billing coordinationSupport implementation of safety programs, procedures, and site-specific requirementsParticipate in safety meetings, briefings, and field activities as assignedPreferred BackgroundCurrently pursuing a degree in Fire Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related fieldInterest in workplace safety, compliance, and risk managementStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work in both office and field environmentsEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
