Safety Specialist (Albuquerque)

Job Title: Safety SpecialistDuration: 3 MonthsLocation: Albuquerque, NM 87120Training Schedule:Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:30 PMShift Schedule:Wednesday – Saturday | 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM(Additional days and overtime may be required)OT: Up to 10 hoursNote: Candidates with EMT or NREMT certifications are highly preferredJob Description:The Safety Specialist will support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) operations by identifying compliance risks, conducting audits, facilitating investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture across the site. Candidates with EMT or NREMT certifications are highly preferred, as the site may utilize them in a dual-role capacity to assist with first aid support when needed.Key Responsibilities:Identify and inform management of compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through weekly and monthly auditsFacilitate incident and investigation processesMaintain required documentation to comply with client policies and regulatory requirementsEnter and maintain information in internal databases promptly and accuratelyConduct safety observations and auditsTrain and assist Area Managers and team members on safety procedures, audits, and compliance requirementsPerform safety training sessions as required by managementSupport fire prevention, hazardous waste management, and other safety-related activities as assignedParticipate in process improvement initiatives and manage corrective actions to completionRequired Skills & Qualifications:Minimum 1 year of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field or Bachelor's degree in a related fieldKnowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional environmentAbility to maintain confidentiality involving workplace security and personnel mattersStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all organizational levelsCalm demeanor and good judgment in high-pressure situationsFlexible to work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as neededReliable, team-oriented, and detail-focusedPreferred Qualifications:EMT or NREMT Certification preferredCurrent BLS CertificationBachelor's degree or higher in a related fieldExperience leading or managing teamsExperience conducting job hazard analyses and reviewing accident data/process risksWorkers' Compensation and case management experienceExperience in healthcare, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial settingsPassion for workplace safety and continuous improvementStrong coaching, teamwork, analytical, and customer service skills
