Job Title: L1 Data Center TechnicianLocation: Reno, NV (Onsite)Duration: Long Term ContractNote: Looking only for W2 Candidates Job Description• 1-2 years exp Move servers and switches to required destination for installation.• Inspect servers and switches to make sure that they are not damaged in any way.• Smoke test servers to ensure that server is functioning as intended.• Install servers and switches and cable it according to provided wire map.• Make sure that all cables ran are bundled neatly and in accordance with Nvidia's standard.• Double check with network admins to make sure everything is cabled correctly, and all connections are up.• Install additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory)• Assist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed• Auditing of servers and consumables1. Data Center OperationsPerform rack & stack of servers, network devices, and storage equipmentHandle cabling (fiber & copper) including labeling and cable managementSupport installation, relocation, and decommissioning of hardware2. Hardware & Inventory ManagementReceive and verify hardware shipments against purchase orders / delivery notesPerform physical inspection of equipment for damages upon arrivalMaintain accurate inventory records (asset tagging, tracking, updates)Manage spares inventory and ensure availability of critical componentsCoordinate hardware returns (RMA), dispatch, and logistics trackingEnsure proper storage, labeling, and documentation of all assets3. Incident & Request HandlingProvide L1 support for incidents and service requests via ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow)Perform basic troubleshooting (L1 triage) for:Server hardware issuesNetwork connectivity (Layer 1 checks)Escalate issues to L2/L3 teams with proper logs and updates4. Remote Hands SupportAct as hands & eyes support for remote engineersExecute tasks such as:Cable reseatingPower cycling devicesConsole access setupBasic hardware replacement (as guided)5. Monitoring & ReportingMonitor alerts from DC tools / dashboardsUpdate tickets with accurate troubleshooting steps and statusMaintain documentation, asset inventory, and audit records6.
