The successful candidate will possess the ability to analyze problems, envision solutions and develop deliverables using state of the art technology in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. The Surveyor will work closely with our Project Manager on all projects. The Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) will have the responsibility for technical performance on projects and/or designated tasks. Work requires application of standard surveying techniques and procedures, professional judgment to make modifications or execute complex features or solutions.ResponsibilitiesPerform complex survey/geomatic calculations and analysis of survey data for preparing survey maps, plats and right of way mappingCompile and research existing data for projects as needed to efficiently complete survey requirementsCoordinate and assist in preparing project estimates and schedulesAnalyze deeds, title reports and other research materials for the production of survey maps and reportsEffective coordination and communication with other team membersWrite and review legal descriptionsOversee surveys to establish and map boundaries for properties, topographic studies, construction features, etc. This includes maps, reports, legal descriptions and moreSearch legal records, survey records, plans, specifications, land titles, etc. to obtain information about property boundaries and other items of interest specific to the tasks being surveyedComplete assignments in a timely and efficient mannerEnsure QC process has been completed prior to survey products advancing to client deliveryResponsible for technical performance on small projects and/or designated tasks on large projectsGuide, mentor and direct survey analysts and technicians in the completion of their assignmentsReview field notes, daily records and data results received from survey staffQualificationsRegistration as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in the State of Florida, in accordance with Chapter 472, Florida Statutes, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire (LSIT certification required)Minimum of 10 years overall survey experience.Thorough knowledge of land surveying principles and practicesExperience with any of the following: MicroStation, Geo-Pak, FDOT SS4, Carlson Survey, Pix4D Mapper, Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D CADD softwareSuccessful history of project/task management on FDOT or Public Works Projects as well as Site Development and ALTA/NSPS land title surveysProven experience providing excellent customer service and meeting project schedulesMinimum 3 years of CAD experienceProficient with field equipment and standard field proceduresCapacity to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing prioritiesSubstantial oral and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications1-5 years post licensure experienceLicensed Surveyor in states other than Florida1-3 years FDOT Location Surveying and right of way mapping processes and standardsPost-secondary training in CAD programsGeneral experience working directly with clients and managing projectsBenefitsAt Alliant, we take care of our employees by offering a world class benefit package including:Competitive salary with bonus opportunityGenerous Profit Sharing, ESOP and 401k Contribution programsChoice of Medical plans, Dental, and VisionCompany paid Life Insurance, Short-term disability and Long-term disabilityFlexible spending accounts for Medical and Dependent CareWellness Programs & CompetitionsGenerous Annual Leave and Compensatory Time Off programsFlexible SchedulesCasual work environmentPaid Professional Development and TrainingCommunity Involvement/Charity EventsNumerous Workplace Social events (Golf outings, Family Picnics, Chili Cook-off, Birthday and Anniversary celebrations and Spring Fling to name a few)Who We AreAlliant Engineering, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a growing engineering, planning, landscape architecture, and surveying firm with a strong culture of customer service, quality, delivery, and innovation.
