With a longstanding reputation for quality service, the company remains a cornerstone in Jacksonville's land surveying industry.Role DescriptionClarson & Associates is in search of a highly motivated candidate, who is looking to grow in knowledge and experience within the field of land surveying This is a full-time, on-site role for a Survey I-Man/Rodman based in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves assisting in land surveying duties, including performing actions to supply information for boundary, topographic surveys, collecting and analyzing data, and supporting surveyors in the field. The candidate will work closely with the survey team to ensure accurate measurements and documentation in compliance with project requirements and standards.QualificationsWillingness and drive to grow in knowledge of the surveying fieldStrong Communication skills to coordinate effectively with team membersKnowledge in general Surveying techniques and protocolsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsValid driver's license and reliable transportationExperience with survey equipment and tools is a plusEssential Functions Of The Position Must be able to sit or stand for multiple hours Must be proficient with a computer and various software Must be able to work in outdoor environments and be exposed to heat, rain, cold, wind, and other weather activities Must be able to walk long distances. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to perform manual labor including but not limited to raking, shoveling, chopping, hammering etc.The Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites. Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of land or land features depending on project requirements and standards Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS). Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features, roadways, pipes, structures, ponds, and other items per plans and specifications. Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements. Chop, cut and saw trees, bushes, and other debris in order to establish line of site for surveying or layout purposes Maintain survey and GPS equipment used for both surveying and heavy equipment. Stake and grade layout for land or land features, plat lot layout, roadways, pipes, structures, ponds, and other items per plans and specifications. Transfer information collected into electronic form
