Surgical Technologist- Surgery

The Surgical Technologist is a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. The Surgical Tech assists the surgeon as a scrub tech, assists the circulating nurse under his/her direct supervision, assists in housekeeping duties of the unit and maintains and increases standards of performance and education. QUALIFICATIONS: * Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program * Demonstration of recent and relevant experience * Current BLS certification * Participation in continuing education programs related to operating room nursing and mandatory OCH in-service programs * Ability to meet daily physical demands of the job * Cognitive ability to follow directions JOB RELATIONSHIPS: * Works under the direct supervision of the staff RN * Works closely with other professional and nonprofessional personnel in the OR, as well as interdepartmental relationships and patients/families
