Registry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Registry Registered Nurse (RN) within the Kenneth Moy Care Center.As part of our Registry team, you will work a minimum of eight (8) shifts per calendar month, four (4) of which must be weekend days. All shifts worked must be eight (8) hours. Total number of hours worked per year must not exceed 1,000 hours.As part of your schedule, you will be required to work a minimum of:One (1) major summer holiday: Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), or Labor Day.One (1) major winter holiday: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's DayAs well as two (2) additional County holidays: Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, or Day after ThanksgivingThis position is assigned to the AFSCME (Care Center) Bargaining Unit. Union contract document is available at: AFSCME Council 31 - Care Center.pdfThis position is not eligible for health insurance benefits and paid time off.DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity EmployerResponsibilities include:Responding to residents' calls and renders servicesPlanning and coordinating residents' care planPreparing and applying dressings and giving medications and treatment as prescribed by physiciansSupervising and guiding Nurses' Aides in performance of routine nursing activitiesMaintaining accurate inventory of narcotics and other drugsGiving enemas and douches, catheterizing residents, irrigating bladder and administering oxygenContacting families or relatives if resident has needsOverseeing documentation to comply with IDPA reimbursement rules, Public Health Regulations and Joint CommissionRequirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:* Completion of coursework for a diploma in Nursing from an accredited college or university* Current license in Illinois as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN)The preferred candidate will have:* Wound care experienceA post offer physical is required.A pre-employment background check is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
