This position will be part of our talented and growing Electrical and I&C team in the West Regional Design Center.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, configure, and program DCS and PLC-based SCADA systems for water and wastewater facilitiesRTU, PLC and HMI programmingFactory testing, startup and commissioning of control systemsOptimize process control loopsCoordination with utility staff, contractors and other engineering firmsCustomer support, maintenance and troubleshootingTraining and documentationTechnical writingClient presentationsFunctions as a mid-level PLC and HMI programming specialist under general supervisionPerform testing, startup and commissioning of control systemsSupport continuous improvement for quality control and programming executionCoordinate with clients, contractors and other engineering firmsOn-going client support, maintenance and troubleshootingAdditional Project OpportunitiesConstruction support and inspection for electrical and I&C systemsSCADA system upgrades and replacementsSmart Integrated Infrastructure, Data AnalyticsLeadership growth opportunities.Exposure to other industries.Preferred QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or equivalent. 3 - 7 years’ experience in PLC, RTU, SCADA and HMI programming. Direct experience and proficiency with Modicon M580 and Control Expert. Direct experience with Allen-Bradly Control Logix a plus.Hands on experience with Schneider Electric PLC, specifically models M580 and M340.Direct experience in SCADA programming with VTScada, AVEVA Intouch or System Platform, FactoryTalk View SE or ME, Red Lion, GE Proficy iFix or similar experience. Direct experience with various communication protocols to include but not limited to:  Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, DNP3. Experience in writing control narratives and/or operator’s manuals a plus.Excellent communication skills, self-starter, work autonomously with minimal supervision. Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience is a plusSystem Integrator experience as a programmer and project lead is a plus. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities. Minimum of 5 years of related work experience. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday.
