SHFT Behavioral Health is a first-of-its-kind clinic offering same-day mental health support
for both urgent and routine needs.
We serve clients ages five and up, providing single-session chats, urgent assessments,
routine therapy, and medication management. We are open seven days a week, and
clients can walk in or schedule appointments in advance.
Our clinic bridges the gap between traditional outpatient therapy and emergency care,
providing accessible, high-quality mental health services in a supportive, innovative
environment. We focus on compassionate, practical solutions for clients while
maintaining a clinician-friendly workplace that values work-life balance and professional
growth.What You'll Do
• Provide direct clinical care for clients of all ages, including single-session chats,
routine therapy, and urgent assessments
• Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and formulate individualized
treatment plans
• Facilitate family consultations and collaborate with caregivers, schools, and
community partners
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care as appropriate
• Complete timely, high-quality clinical documentation using our electronic health
record system
• Participate in team meetings, peer case consultations, and interdisciplinary
discussions
• Support outreach and engagement activities, including community representation
and partnership effortsQualifications
• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related
behavioral health field from an accredited institution
• Active, unrestricted clinical license in the state of Illinois (LCSW, LCPC, or Licensed
Clinical Psychologist [PhD or PsyD])
• Clinical experience in acute care, emergency, or similarly high-acuity settings
• Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and developing safety
plans
• Demonstrated experience managing crisis situations
• Experience delivering brief, solution-focused clinical interventions
• Strong interpersonal skills and sound clinical judgmentRequirements
• Full-time, in-person availability in Chicago, IL
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and
weekends; some weekend shifts are required
• Spanish fluency strongly preferred
• Experience providing couples therapy preferred
• Experience working with older adults preferredCore Competencies

contributes to shared case consultation and care planning
• Organization & Time Management: Manages a dynamic caseload while
maintaining timely documentation and follow-up
• Professionalism & Ethical Practice: Maintains clinical standards, confidentiality,
and adherence to scope of practice
