Elevate your nursing career-apply now to serve those who served us!The Spinal Cord Injury Nurse is responsible for delivering and supervising direct, personalized patient care, including assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation tailored to each patient's age and needs. Focused on empowering Veterans through education, self-management, and ensuring high patient satisfaction, this role fosters a collaborative and compassionate care environment.Duties Include but not limited to:Administers medications and procedures in accordance with policies and guidelines.Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to enhance care outcomes.Performs assessments, develops care plans, implements interventions, and evaluates patient progress based on age-specific needs.Participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and guidelines.Coordinates care with a focus on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.Assists in formulating individualized care plans based on nursing assessments.Fosters a safe, supportive environment for the professional growth of healthcare team members.Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based practices and decision-making at individual, group, and population levels.Responsible for documenting and achieving broad, complex program or service-level outcomes within the organization.Delegates appropriate tasks to team members, considering patient needs, condition, and safety.Applies nursing principles and theory with limited critical thinking, supporting growth and development in practice.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total RewardsPay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: Night Shift, 11:00 PM - 08:00 AM with rotating weekend and Holiday ShiftsCompressed/Flexible: AvailableTelework: Not AvailableVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
