As a Field Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of process control instrumentation at customer sites in Rochester, NY and surrounding territories with minimal supervision.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Prime ResponsibilitiesPerform routine calibrations of process control instrumentationPerform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation to a variety of flow meters, transmitters, controllers and associated equipment to meet customers' requirementsVisually inspects, tests, and recommends changes to ensure required installation meets manufacturer's standards for operationObserves processes, apply, and develop tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation of equipmentDetermine possible system faults prior to departing for on-site service calls, in order to determine test equipment and spare parts that may be requiredIdentify opportunities for upgrades at the customer siteProvide accurate, professional, and timely documentation of service callsCommunicate effectively with customers, principals, co-workers, and management providing information regarding the nature of problems, course of action to be taken and schedule for completion of workProvide support and training to peers to improve their abilities and increase their technical knowledgeQualificationsAssociates degree in a technical field, or equivalent training and experience5+ year's previous experience installing, maintaining, and repairing instrumentationTechnical aptitudeProblem solvingAbility to work in a team environmentIndustrial safety trainingStrong communication and documentation skillsAble to work overtime as neededAbility to train and mentor local instrumentation techniciansTravelTravel is up to 75% of the time and primarily local during the business day, although extended travel is expected, which may require overnight stays and weekends.
