Salary: Depends on QualificationsLocation : BoliviaJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 202600031Department: Emergency Medical ScienceOpening Date: 03/03/2026Closing Date: 6/30/2026 11:59 PM EasternGeneral FunctionThe Full time EMS faculty/Instructor is responsible for all aspects of educational encounters with EMS students in the classroom, laboratory and simulation, and clinical setting, in collaboration with the Program Director. This full-time position has 3 areas of responsibility - instructional, advising, and other duties as needed. Instructional activities require, among other things, subject matter expertise and thorough preparation for every instructional responsibility. Advising duties demand knowledge of the students' chosen field of study, as well as an understanding of registration, testing, and other procedures. Other responsibilities include, completion of necessary paperwork, serving on committees, attending College functions, and recruitment and retention activities. This position must be able to instruct in curriculum and continuing education.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollows appropriate course student learning outcomes along with evaluation methods, which accurately measure student learning.Maintain an up-to-date syllabus for each course using the approved syllabus template.Ensure instructional materials comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.Be present for the entire scheduled instructional time or provide appropriate class coverage plans to the Program Director or Lead Faculty, in case of necessary absences.Teach a typical load of 18-21 contact hours during the contract period, as determined by the Program Director and college policy. Other assigned activities may affect teaching load.Collaborate with faculty to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and simulation scenarios to promote student learning and critical decision-making.Attend faculty development and training related to the use of simulation.Provides clinical supervision and guidance (clinical and skills lab) to students as assigned.Assists with test construction and proctoring of examinations as needed.Identifies at-risk students and intervenes with assistance of the Program Director.Participates in selection of textbooks and other educational resources.Participates in academic advising and counseling as assigned. Serves as an academic advisor to assigned students. Understand and work within the registration process and programs of study/catalog requirements.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; (must have at least an Associate Degree in EMS)North Carolina Office of EMS Paramedic certificationNorth Carolina credentialed Level I or Level II EMS Instructor at the Paramedic level, Level II EMS Instructor at the Paramedic level within two years of hire date.Five years full-time field experience as a paramedic in the delivery of pre-hospital emergency careTwo years of experience as an instructor in an EMS program in a post-secondary institution.Knowledge of and experience with current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education StandardsKnowledge of and experience with CAAHEP and CoAEMSP for EMS programs.Skilled in the use of office and classroom/lab technologies.Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Current BLS Healthcare Provider and Instructor Certifications.AHA, ACLS, and PALS provider and instructor qualifications.Current immunizations and annual tuberculosis screening per clinical and field sites policy.Performance of duties takes place in office, classroom and clinical settings.Travel to designated clinical sites, campuses, and agency partners required.Preferred RequirementsMaster's degree (must have at least an Associate Degree in EMS)BCC is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including health care, dental, vision, retirement, deferred compensation plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, life insurance, long-term disability, holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
