Be the point where accuracy drives everything forward.At Dutch Point Credit Union, strong financial operations are the foundation behind everything we do — from serving our members to supporting the growth of the organization.We’re looking for a Staff Accountant who takes pride in getting the details right, understands the importance of accuracy, and wants to be part of a team that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.Why This Role MattersAccuracy You Can Trust Your work helps ensure our financial records are reliable, complete, and ready to support decisions at every level.A Strong Foundation From daily balancing to month-end close, you’ll play a key role in keeping our accounting processes consistent and on track.Support That Moves the Organization Forward You’ll partner across teams to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and contribute to a well-run, high-performing department.What You’ll DoYou’ll support the day-to-day accounting functions that keep everything aligned and accurate.Perform daily balancing of branch activity to the general ledgerPrepare and post journal entries for daily and month-end processesReconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variancesProcess accounts payable and support IRS reporting requirementsHandle insurance-related accounting and lending-related transactionsMaintain clear, accurate documentation for all financial activityYou’ll also support the broader financial picture:Assist with financial and statistical reporting for management and Board reportingContribute to month-end closing activitiesHelp ensure balance sheet and income statement accuracyHow You’ll WorkYou’ll be part of a collaborative accounting team, working closely with the Controller and internal partners across the organization.This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities while keeping work accurate and on schedule.What You BringYou have a solid foundation in accounting and a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to accuracy and integrity.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent experience1–3 years of accounting experience (financial institution or credit union experience is a plus)Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office, especially ExcelStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionClear communication skills and a collaborative approachAdaptability in a fast-moving environment with changing prioritiesWhat You Can ExpectA supportive, team-focused accounting environmentMeaningful work that directly supports the organization’s successFull benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and moreKeep it accurate.
