DescriptionWe are looking for a tax specialist to join a public accounting team in the West Hartford area. This position offers the chance to contribute to a collaborative firm environment while supporting a diverse client base with tax planning and compliance needs. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys advising individuals and businesses, preparing accurate filings, and helping clients navigate complex tax matters.Responsibilities:- Develop tax strategies related to business sales, acquisitions, and merger activity to help clients make informed financial decisions.- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, business owners, and senior executives with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.- Support clients with personal tax planning efforts by identifying opportunities to improve tax efficiency and long-term outcomes.- Manage compliance activities involving sales and use tax requirements across applicable jurisdictions.- Analyze financial and tax information to identify planning considerations, filing obligations, and potential areas of risk.- Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary documentation, answer tax-related questions, and explain filing positions clearly.- Use tax software to complete return preparation, maintain organized records, and support efficient workflow execution.Please send resumes to Chelsea Halon - chelsea.halon@roberthalf comRequirements- Experience preparing individual and corporate tax returns in a public accounting or related tax environment.- Strong knowledge of tax preparation processes, including planning, compliance, and return filing requirements.- Familiarity with tax matters affecting closely held businesses, owners, and executive-level individual taxpayers.- Working knowledge of sales and use tax rules and related compliance responsibilities.- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS or similar tax software.- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret tax data and apply relevant regulations accurately.- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and internal team members.Please send resumes to Chelsea Halon - chelsea.halon@roberthalf comRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
