Co- Litigation Manager Full Time Manager Chicago, IL, US 12 days ago Requisition ID: 1001 Salary Range: $110,000.00 To $125,000.00 Annually Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Co-Litigation Manager to oversee our legal team and ensure efficient and effective operation of our litigation department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of litigation processes and procedures. This role requires someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities, foster a collaborative work environment, and drive results through effective management and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities Provide strong leadership and direction to the litigation team, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Make recommendations regarding additional training, oversight, or other needed support for the department. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and training as needed. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional growth. Oversee the management of all litigation cases from inception to resolution, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and client expectations. Develop and implement case management strategies and best practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor case progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure successful outcomes. Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies, prepare for hearings and trials, and manage discovery processes. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing litigation practice. Implement and maintain policies and procedures to mitigate legal and financial risk for the firm and its clients. Stay abreast of industry trends, developments, and best practices related to litigation management and incorporate them into department operations. Set clear goals and objectives for the department and individual team members. Participate in interviewing and making hiring recommendations. Working knowledge of personal injury law involving motor vehicle collisions. Maintain a professional appearance and behavior. Timecard management for the Chicago Litigation employees. Assess and make recommendations of personnel termination, when needed. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person and email Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Case Management software Education Requirements College degree or comparable paralegal certification and experience Physical Requirements Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions. Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery such as a copy machine/printer. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area. Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer. Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs. Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
