Duties
Design and implement robust cloud architectures utilizing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Rackspace, and OpenStack to meet diverse business needs.
Develop and automate deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
Manage and optimize cloud services including SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), and Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Docker.
Lead the development of scalable microservices architectures utilizing Kubernetes, Docker containers, RESTful APIs, and web services to support high-availability applications.
Implement security best practices through identity and access management (IAM) solutions, system hardening techniques, VPNs, and network security protocols to safeguard cloud environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or virtualization platforms to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
Requirements
Proven experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack or Rackspace.
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Citrix along with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Expertise in scripting languages including Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Ruby or JavaScript for automation purposes.
Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), RESTful APIs, web services development, and distributed systems architecture.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible for automating deployment processes at scale.
Familiarity with managing IT infrastructure components like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server or NoSQL databases such as NoSQL solutions for scalable data storage.
Strong background in Linux/Unix operating systems along with system hardening techniques for security compliance.
Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; experience with scripting for automation is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to managing IT infrastructure in a fast-evolving technological landscape.
