International Logistics Planner
Role DescriptionReporting to the SVP of International of a growing third-party logistics company with best-in-class technology offering valued-added services in logistics management, 3PL, supply chain management, dry van, dedicated, and expedited freight. The International & Domestic Logistics Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of freight by all modes, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery based on cargo specifics and customer requirements. This role involves monitoring shipments, providing regular updates to clients, and preparing all necessary documentation to meet regulatory and customs requirements for smooth cargo movement. Qualifications· Coordinate all aspects of routing freight for air and ocean shipments, including domestic and drayage· Determine optimal shipping methods to ensure customer satisfaction· Manually enter a high volume of new orders daily · Prepare and execute airway bills for export compliance with the TSA· Manage tasks across multiple systems while effectively handling email communications· Monitor and track shipments proactively, providing customers with timely updates on any exception or delays · Prepare import/export documentation, including bills of lading, dock receipts, commercial invoices, delivery orders, ensuring timely distribution of all relevant documents to the designated parties · Dispatching carriers for drayage movements to and from the ports, scheduling delivery appointments, and working with various plants to schedule loading times · Ensure adherence to export regulations and proper documentation requirements · Managing FMC rate filings for all ocean shipments· Produce documentation required to secure the release of import consolidations from carriers · Handle turnover documentation for transfer to other brokers· Support the processing of vendor invoices for payment and ensure accurate rating of files for billing · Quoting shipments for all modes· Monitor EDI flow of information and report any issues · Support inter-departmental projects and activities as required. · Trouble shoot customer issues promptly· Perform additional duties assigned by management Position Requirements· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.· Min 3 years’ experience in international freight forwarding or NVOCC preferred.· Ability to speak effectively to customers· Ability to read and interpret documents related to the movement of shipments.· Proficiency with Cargowise a must· Demonstrated leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit· Proficient in Microsoft Office software, freight management software, CRM systems, and other relevant technology tools.· In person preferred but not a requirement; ability to be on call night and weekends as part of rotation
