Warren Paving, Inc. - Gulfport, MS, United StatesThe Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment that may include, but is not limited to front-end loaders, dozers, motor graders, compactors, excavators, skid steers, milling machines and other pieces of equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The position requires the successful candidate to clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed, follow policies and procedures, conduct yourself in a courteous and respectful manner, be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done safely and efficiently, which may require some general labor work outside of equipment operations, and occasionally deal with customers and members of the public.Essential Functions And Duties Of PositionEnsure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.Practice workplace safety per OSHA standardsOperate heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving and construction operations in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of lifeWork outdoors on location in all weather conditions and on all terrains, usually from the early morning hours until late afternoon/early eveningMay be expected to work evenings, weekends or holidaysPerform daily safety and maintenance checks, ensure equipment is safely and securely stored and clean equipment as scheduled and/or requiredBe able to handle physically strenuous and demanding conditions.Ability to work independently and to stay on top of the scheduleWillingness to perform general labor work, when necessaryGood analytical and problem-solving skillsRead and write to keep up with daily recordsDeal with the public in a positive, courteous and respectful mannerTeam-orientedFlexible with scheduleLift items of 50 pounds or more overheadWillingness to travel out of town if requiredPerform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned or requiredDependable -- more reliable than spontaneousAdaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in directionDetail-oriented -- would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger pictureOther duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.Working Conditions/Physical DemandsAble to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.May require sitting for extended periods of time.Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.Able to work in all weather conditions.An Equal Opportunity Employer seeking candidates without regard to age, race, national origin, gender, disability, veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, transgender status, or any other protected status.Compensation DOEPosted: Tuesday, May 5, 2026Job # 242
