Warren Paving, Inc. - Gulfport, MS, United StatesAsphalt Paving Crewmember’s assist in the paving for roads, highways, and parking lots. They will assist in the construction of highways/private roadways/parking lots using handheld tools. Asphalt Paving Crewmember’s will drive a distributor truck or crew truck to and from jobsites or a tack truck as needed. CDL Class B is required.Essential Functions And Duties Of PositionEnsure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.Must have the ability to work with the asphalt crew to pave roadways per plan specifications and, if need be, to perform tasks of other positions as instructed by crew foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are metAssist construction/paving crew with various duties such as shoveling, raking, and flaggingDig, spread and level construction materialsLift, carry and hold materials, tools, and suppliesMay assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs barricades, cones, and other traffic control devicesProperly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources ManagerAttendance required according to Company Attendance Policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency levelAttitude/cooperation: always maintaining courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public.Must be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changesOvertime work required. Out of town or county work may be requiredMust be willing to work nights and weekends when necessaryMust adhere to PPE (personal protective equipment) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition as supplied by companyPhysical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hoursRequires riding to and from job sites. If operating company vehicle, employee must meet Driver Qualification Standard.Ability to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specificationsAbility to follow Traffic Control Crew instructions and practice safety standards per Company Safety Policy requirements.Drive a distributor truck or crew truck to and from jobsites, as needed.Assumes additional duties as assigned by supervisors.QualificationsHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.Class B CDL license is required.The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of experience with asphalt crews.Must have the ability to handle several projects at once, while maintaining tight deadlines.Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.Must have reliable transportation and can travel.
