Commercial HVAC lead installer
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Project Lead Journeyman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for onsite coordination between trades, Lay-out of HVAC equipment and its respective ducting per SMACNA Guidelines, and further delegate on site crew personnel. Must be able to follow and interpret all project Plans, Specifications, and Product Submittal Documentation. Must have the ability to lay-out, measure-up duct work and required fittings prior to fabrication, with the ability to accurately draw proper detailed drawings of said ducting and its fittings to submit for fabrication. Required to oversee the installation of the HVAC/Sheet Metal scope in its entirety on a daily basis, while meeting project schedules and forecasted completion dates. Must maintain a frequent channel of communication with DTN’s Commercial Project Manager to ensure successful completion of multiple size projects from start to finish. Duties
- Oversee the installation of HVAC systems in our projects, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with governing codes, company policies and procedures.
- Manage the onsite crew personnel and ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct Safety Meetings with DTN job-site personnel and turn in documentation into DTN project manager on a weekly basis. Conducting jobsite safety analysis and injury prevention as needed.
- Conduct/attend project coordination meetings as required. Identify any necessary obstacles or changes to design documents as they arise, and propose and implement efficient solutions to the project team.
- Review and follow all on site safety, and Site-Specific PPE guidelines, while ensuring DTN’s onsite crew is additionally following all rules set forth to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure HVAC systems are properly integrated into new building designs.
- Maintain accurate records of all HVAC system work, including accurate as-built documentation for Submission to DTN Project Manager after project completion.
- Coordination with DTN Project Manager for development of project RFI’s, Change-Orders, or Design Clarification procedures.
- Accurately fill out and record Dailey Job Diary Notes for all projects, and turning into DTN Project manager on a weekly basis.
- Install and perform installation tasks as a working foreman, when all paperwork is complete and as needed to ensure project schedules are met.
- Ensure all HVAC equipment is properly installed, and operated, and that all equipment is in compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Skills
- Strong background in HVAC / Sheet Metal Installation and a proven track record as a lead roll in commercial/Industrial HVAC Installation.
- Must know Crane Signals, and properly coordinate safely flagging, and traffic diversion as needed.
- Must have clean– moderate driving record,
- Must be able to pass a background check to work in educational and correctional facilities.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and the ability to read and interpret design documentation.
- Experience with HVAC system design and layout.
- Ability to safely operate job site reach forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, equipment hoists or the like.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing crew members all with different levels of experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with DTN Management, Job-Site Superintendent's, construction teams, property owners or their representatives.
- Must be safety conscious, and know OSHA and/or WISHA safety guidelines that pertain to our respective trade.
- Must have experience in all aspects of HVAC Installations and project phases.
- Must be self-motivated, and lead through example.
- Must have an eye for craftsmanship, and top-notch quality installation practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
