Assistant General Counsel, Labor and Employment

Assistant General Counsel, Labor and Employment Remote Voyager is a defense, national security, and space technology company that advances mission‑critical solutions. Overview As part of our corporate Legal team based in Denver, CO (fully remote), you will be the primary legal architect for all people‑related matters supporting our workforce legal strategy and scaling our industrial footprint. Essential Functions Strategic Advisory: Provide real‑time, pragmatic legal counsel to HR and business leaders on the employee lifecycle: recruiting, compensation, performance management, leaves (FMLA/ADA), and separations. M&A Support: Perform labor and employment due diligence for Voyager’s acquisition pipeline and lead post‑merger integration of new workforces. Litigation Management: Manage and resolve employment‑related disputes, administrative charges (EEOC, DFEH/CRD), and litigation. Direct outside counsel, manage legal budgets, and drive cost‑effective settlement or defense strategies. Compliance & Policy: Develop and implement scalable workplace policies that reflect our culture of excellence while ensuring compliance with federal (FLSA, OFCCP, OSHA) and state laws (focus on California and Colorado). Cross‑Functional Legal Support: Serve as versatile legal resource for the broader organization: advising on corporate governance, general risk mitigation, supporting data privacy initiatives, and protecting company intellectual property. Qualifications Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of at least one U.S. State Bar (California preferred; ability to register as In‑House Counsel required). Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in Labor & Employment law, preferably in a technology or defense company. Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including government contractor compliance. Preferred Qualifications Autonomous Drive: High‑impact self‑starter comfortable operating independently and escalating appropriately. Executive Presence: Ability to communicate complex legal risks to technical teams and C‑suite executives with clarity. Adaptability: Comfortable moving between strategy and tactical execution. Mission Alignment: Genuine passion for space exploration and national security. Compensation & Benefits Good‑faith base salary range: $220,000 – $275,000. Role eligible for an incentive plan.
