Introduction MWRD's Internship Program offers paid internship positions. Minimum Requirements Position Title:Outreach and Engagement InternDepartment: Board of Commissioners OfficesLocation:Main Office Building100 East Erie StreetChicago, IL 60611Description:The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District is seeking an intern to support the Board of Commissioners Offices. This internship offers the opportunity to develop skills in wastewater management as well as environmental equity and justice initiatives.Responsibilities include:Assisting with general administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Supporting community outreach and engagement activities.Contributing to the design and execution of social media campaigns.Managing small projects as directed.Tracking social media performance to identify successful content and campaigns.Assisting with influencer campaign strategies.Brainstorming and researching ideas for original content.Creating engaging graphics for social media platforms.Writing captions tailored to MWRD's target audiences.Developing strategies to increase engagement across channels.Ensuring consistency in brand messaging.Researching policies and procedures to support the Commissioner in decisionmaking and in developing new policies and strategies.Please note that remote work is not available for this internship.Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:Ability to work independently and with a team.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Must have reliable transportation to travel to/from various worksites.Must be available to participate with staff at weekend events.Educational Requirements:Applicants must be a current college student enrolled in a degree seeking program.
