Thermostat Sales Manager - West

About This Role The Thermostat Sales Manager owns the strategy and execution required to accelerate thermostat growth across a multistate territory. This role is responsible for expanding market share, strengthening distributor partnerships, increasing contractor and engineer adoption, and positioning Carrier as the preferred solution. The position combines strategic business development, channel leadership, and hands‐on market engagement. The successful candidate serves as a trusted advisor to distributors and customers while collaborating across sales, marketing, and product teams to deliver sustainable, profitable growth. Key Responsibilities Drive Regional Growth – Own Carrier thermostat revenue growth and market share performance across the assigned territory. Develop and execute regional sales and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives. Analyze sales results, market conditions, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities. Drive product sales by influencing decision‐making through effective training and presentations. Lead Channel Partnerships – Frequently visit channel partner locations to merchandise Carrier thermostat portfolio. Create, plan, and execute in‐store trainings with distributors and trade partners to provide education and training. Develop and manage joint growth plans with distribution partners to expand customer reach and contractor adoption. Build long‐term relationships that influence specification, quoting, and project outcomes. Enable the Market – Develop a working knowledge of Carrier HVAC equipment and thermostat capabilities and benefits; train distributor and contractor sales teams on Carrier thermostat offerings, applications, and programs. Engage with product installers, contractors, and distributors to generate new leads; develop customer relationships and provide education on Carrier thermostats through attending trade shows, seminars, and workshops. Attend external events to educate potential customers and partners about Carrier thermostat products and solutions. Provide support for complex sales discussions and project opportunities; drive customer satisfaction by helping resolve sales, service, and product related issues efficiently. Support Strategic Selling – Lead bid opportunities and contribute to proposal development and negotiations; gather competitive pricing and product intelligence to support effective positioning. Identify product gaps and collaborate with Product Management to recommend improvements. Collaborate and Influence – Work effectively in a matrixed, cross‐functional environment to align strategy and execution. Contribute thermostat expertise across sales, marketing, and channel management teams. Support product campaign management through social media engagement and by attending off‐site events as required. Operate independently with minimal direction while consistently delivering results. What Success Looks Like Sustained revenue growth and increased regional market share for the Carrier thermostat portfolio. Strong distributor engagement and execution of joint growth plans. Increased contractor adoption and successful competitive conversions. High credibility as a subject matter expert across the region. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 5+ Years of Sales and/or Operations Management experience. 2+ Years of HVAC industry sales experience. 2+ Years selling to or working directly with distributors. Valid driver's license. Ability to travel up to 80% within the assigned territory. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree. Experience in HVAC, HVAC accessories sales, construction, or industrial environments. Working knowledge of SAP and/or Salesforce. Understanding of HVAC market dynamics, competitors, and industry trends. Proven ability to manage a multistate territory. Strong presentation, communication, and relationship building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Pay Range The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually.
