Academic Physician Hospitalist - JW Ruby Memorial

Hospitalist – Full‑Time Faculty (Assistant/Associate/Professor) West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine seeks a full‑time faculty hospitalist. Ranks available include Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Primary locations: Morgantown, WV and Fairmont, WV. Depending on operational needs, hospitalists may also provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, with travel anticipated to fulfill those duties. Responsibilities Practice internal medicine/hospitalist medicine on the inpatient hospitalist service. Deliver excellent patient care and participate in night admissions coverage. Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in one‑on‑one and team rounding settings. Collaborate with multiple specialty service lines (cardiology, oncology, transplant, infectious disease, etc.) to support comprehensive inpatient care. Engage in interdisciplinary consultation and cross‑department/section collaboration. Participate in academic activities and pursue subspecialty fellowship training, if desired. Qualifications MD, DO, or foreign equivalent with eligibility for a state medical license. Completed an Internal Medicine residency program. Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Work Schedule 40 hours per week with an expectation of 26 weeks of clinical duties annually. Shift coverage primarily includes admissions with cross‑coverage responsibilities.
