Academic Physician Gastroenterology

Position West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a Gastroenterologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). Successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV and/or Fairmont, WV. Responsibilities Practice in the areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. Provide excellent patient care. Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligible for state medical license. Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and gastroenterology fellowship. Board eligible/board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Program Highlights Our GI and Hepatology service line offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, treats a medically diverse population, and exposes clinicians to clinically challenging cases. We have a new and expanding endoscopy center including state‑of‑the‑art suites for advanced procedures and ERCPs, and close access to adjacent specialty clinics. Tremendous institutional support for academic pursuits, particularly pertaining to chronic viral hepatitis and inflammatory bowel disease, is available. The growing Section of Digestive Diseases offers opportunities to build and design programs within a large referral academic center.
