Software Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Software Project Manager to lead and deliver complex software projects across multiple disciplines and development centers. This role manages internal, outsourced, and customer-funded initiatives, ensuring projects meet defined timelines, quality standards, and security requirements.The ideal candidate has strong experience coordinating cross-functional teams, managing technical project lifecycles, and working directly with clients and internal sponsors to align requirements and deliver successful outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage multi-disciplinary software projects, including internal, outsourced, and customer-funded initiatives.Collaborate with clients and internal sponsors to define requirements, scope, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.Develop cost-effective project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.Evaluate solution alternatives and recommend optimal approaches balancing cost, schedule, quality, and security.Ensure compliance with established project management policies, lifecycle processes, and governance standards.Identify risks, objections, and potential issues early; implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery commitments.Coach team members on objection handling, communication, and project management best practices.Communicate schedule changes, scope adjustments, and risk impacts to management and stakeholders.Coordinate cross-functional teams including software engineering, QA, security, geoscience/data teams, and customer support.Maintain project documentation, dashboards, and reporting artifacts to support transparency and decision-making.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Geoscience, Business, or related field.Minimum 6 years of software project management experience.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and enterprise software delivery.Experience managing geographically distributed teams and multi-disciplinary projects.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation skills.Ability to coach others and lead through influence.Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence.Preferred SkillsBackground in geoscience, subsurface workflows, or technical enterprise software (preferred but not required).Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Vendor or outsourced project coordination experience.
