Our Financial Services client is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to join their team. As a GCP Data Engineer, the ideal candidate will have GCP, BigQuery and Python which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: GCP Data EngineerLocation: Charlotte, NCWhat’s the Job?Key Requirements3+ years Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience Strong data engineering background (not application dev) Core Technologies GCP stack:Cloud Composer BigQuery (critical) Pub/Sub Dataflow Cloud Functions Workflows GKE Programming:Python (mandatory) Key Focus AreasAI & data pipelines Framework and pipeline development BigQuery performance + cost optimization Additional ExpectationsExperience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot) for productivity CI/CD (GitHub Actions, etc.) Strong delivery mindset Technology & Program Context Majority of work is new build (greenfield) Focus areas:AI-driven architecture Data platforms (GCP) Enterprise data accessibility Modernization Efforts (Limited but Relevant) Some migration of:Legacy AI/ML models → GCP Not full app modernization, but:Platform + model transitions Data standardization initiatives Architecture & Data Strategy Building ADS (Analytical Data Stores) on GCP Objective:Make data accessible and reusable enterprise-wide Ensure data is AI-readyIncludes semantic layers, governance Integration Model Applications may remain on-prem or migrate independently Focus is on:Standardizing data output into GCP Collaboration with:Enterprise/central tech teams (CDO, CTO) Shared tooling and frameworks If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
