Annual Fund ManagerStep into a key fundraising role at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden as the Annual Fund Manager and help fuel a mission that connects people with plants, nature, and inspiring outdoor spaces. This is a high-energy, relationship-centered position for someone who loves strategy, storytelling, and building genuine connections with donors. What You'll Do Lead the Garden's annual giving program by planning and running direct mail appeals, email campaigns, phone outreach, and online giving efforts for individuals, corporations, and organizations. Create warm, compelling donor communications, appeal letters, impact updates, and thank-you messages that make supporters feel seen, appreciated, and connected to the Garden's work. Build and manage a thoughtful stewardship program for corporate donors, including setting recognition levels, delivering benefits, and ensuring they feel like valued partners. Work closely with the External Relations Director to set annual fundraising goals, map out strategies, and track progress so everyone knows how the program is performing. Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in the fundraising database (Altru), logging activities, strategies, and key notes to support strong long-term relationships. Analyze donor data to identify trends, spot new opportunities, and refine your approach to boost revenue, retention, and engagement. Play a key role in Blossom, the Garden's annual fundraising dinner, by helping secure sponsorships and managing donor relationships around the event. What You'll Bring A bachelor's degree, or a mix of education and related experience that prepares you for the role. At least three years of success managing multi-channel annual fund efforts using a relationship-building, moves management approach. Comfort initiating and growing relationships with donors, both on the phone and in personyou enjoy conversation and connection. Strong familiarity with donor databases; experience with Altru or Blackbaud is especially helpful. Excellent organization and attention to detailyou can keep track of many moving parts without losing sight of the big picture. Clear, professional communication skills in writing and speaking, and a polished, friendly presence. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and contribute positively to team culture. Willingness to complete required background checks, including child abuse, state police, and FBI clearances. Work Style and Environment Full-time role (around 40 hours per week) with flexibility for Garden events and donor activities. Primarily office-based work with the chance to get outside occasionally to host tours and show donors the impact of their support. Comfort sitting for extended periods, using a computer regularly, and walking the Garden's moderate terrain when needed.
