Position SummaryPosition Summary:Global responsibility for establishing and maintaining ‘Enterprise Data’ spanning Organizational/ Reference data, Master data, Conditional data, and Transactional data, and supports all Functions and Operating Groups of Parker Hannifin Corporation. Directs and is responsible for the design and implementation of all relevant information technology systems and services to meet strategic objectives. Works with corporate and division teams to promote Enterprise information technology infrastructure, applications, and services in the Data domain.ResponsibilitiesKey Roles & Responsibilities include: Ownership of ‘Enterprise Data’ & data strategy, standards & best practices Enterprise data includes: Transactional Data like Shipments & Orders. It also includes Master Data like Customers & Parts. Additionally, this position is responsible to developing additional data layers like Conditional Data (Sales Assignments, Authorizations) and Reference Data (UoM, Currency, Marketing Product Codes). Financial & budget management including Cost Allocation strategy. Develops project goals and objectives to complete complex or major information technology projects by reviewing performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates, quality plans, and conferring with management. Ensures project meets schedule, cost results, and technical expectations through effective project leadership. Ownership of Data Architecture and ETL (‘Extract, Transform, Load’ processes) Global systems responsibility including system administration, vendor relationships, and contracts management for applications related to data management and ETL processes. Maintaining key partnerships with the business stakeholders as well as adjacent data teams to ensure the highest data quality & integrity when providing Enterprise data for use in data analytics or Enterprise reporting (Win Scorecard). Scanning the landscape of technologies, evaluation of relevant vendors & technologies to establish a sustainable ‘Data roadmap’ for Parker. Technology Simplification, consolidation, and retirement of legacy systems and processes Engagement with Data/Business intelligence teams to curate (Data Engineering) new datasets required to meet the needs of the business. Example: New delivery performance metrics for Win Scorecard. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and/or boards of directors. Acts as prime consultant to management on significant issues. Provides leadership to others in department or to ad-hoc teams. Serves as technical subject expert and resource. Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents the company on specific projects.Scope/Supervision and Interaction: This position has direct reports in multiple countries and includes high-performing team members and team leaders.Essential Functions Designs proposals and evaluates external contracts to provide an acceptable level of return to the company by researching customer requirements and translating them into design specifications. Develops strategies and implementation plans for providing efficient information technology solutions. Develops and manages proposals and infrastructure plans to meet current and future business and customer needs. Determines the need for cross-division teaming and external strategic partner/alliances. Conducts competitive research, evaluates information systems and service performance, and formulates goals and milestones for specific development projects. Applies thorough understanding of corporate, group, and division’s technical capabilities and operational needs to influence future plans and strategies. Serves as the liaison and facilitator with divisions, corporate, and outsource suppliers/consultants, to resolve issues and assure customer satisfaction with regard to cost, quality, delivery, and performance. Provides divisions with liaison support within and across the Data Team and broader IT organization on existing and new programs. Stays in close contact with division information technology teams to enable rapid turnaround solutions. Develops project goals and objectives to complete complex or major information technology projects by reviewing performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates, quality plans, and conferring with management. Ensures project meets schedule, cost results, and technical expectations through effective project leadership. Controls project plan by reviewing design specifications, and plan or schedule changes, and recommending actions to achieve performance to committed milestones. Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts Maintains frequent formal and informal customer interface to present project status; may propose and/or negotiate changes in schedules or methodology. Gains customer confidence in overall support of customer programs Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing networks, and/or participating in professional associations. Establishes goals and objectives to carry out programs or functions by actively coordinating efforts. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making complex comparative analyses. Acts as prime consultant to management on significant issues. Provides leadership to others in department or to ad-hoc teams. Serves as technical subject expert and resource. Represents the company on specific projects.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of information technology related to specific assignments, industry practices, regulations, and overall business operations. Ability to translate customer desires and projected requirements into information technology strategies and to develop solutions to customer problems. Specific area of assignment may require knowledge in specific or multiple products and tools. Able to provide leadership to other team leaders and professional staff. Thorough technical knowledge of software and hardware selection, implementation, and testing methodology. Ability to develop improved methods and systems and to effectively assess, lead, and implement continuous improvement in critical and/or high-impact areas. Knowledge of project management standards, methods and techniques, and internal budgeting and procurement processes. Ability to work on and understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective. Ability to analyze and interpret complex policies and detailed technical manuals and to recommend and implement changes to procedures. Ability to respond to significant inquiries from users. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and/or boards of directors.
