McGough is a respected partner that brings six generations of experience to high profile, unique and complex construction projects.We take great pride in our people and their extraordinary expertise in planning, development, construction and facility management.McGough employee tenure reflects the commitment and pride we share in our work.Ask anyone who knows us - the caliber of our people sets us apart.INDUSTRIALASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGERThe primary role of the Industrial Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting with managing all project aspects, including the responsibilities and tasks outlined below.Other key responsibilities include mentoring and coaching Project Engineers, managing projects or portions of projects with oversight of senior staff, and fostering and building relationships with owners, design partners, subcontractors and suppliers.This position would work in various McGough industrial sectors, which include Agriculture (Biofuels, Oilseed), Power & Infrastructure, Pharma, Life Sciences and Tech.Qualifications:Required:Construction Management or related degree2 years minimum of related experience, including experience with self-perform capabilitiesEstimating ExperienceStrong communication skillsThorough and detail-orientedAbility to prioritize and multi-task within time constraintsSelf-starter and motivatedStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite of toolsPreferred:Scheduling experienceField experienceElectrical experienceOffice and Travel:Office:Various jobsites and/or corporate/regional office.Travel:Ability to travel to out-of-town assignments of up to 12-24 months.Responsibilities and Tasks:Pursuit, Preconstruction and Business Development:Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirementsResearch prospective clientsParticipate in preconstruction meetingsParticipate in and prepare required documentation for QA/QC page turn sessionMcGough Self-Performed Work:Understand quantity take-offsUnderstand warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools, services and costsGather information or assist in Project Assessment preparationAssist with creating Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for our workEstimating and Bidding:Perform quantity take-offs and assist in building estimatesAssist with subcontractor procurement (bid solicitations, bid analysis and tabulations)Scheduling:Assist with Critical Path Method (CPM) schedulingParticipate in Last Planner systemParticipate in daily/weekly work planningProject Documentation:Review and understand all drawings and specificationsParticipate in project document page turn reviewsDraft and process Requests for Information (RFI)Manage the shop drawings/submittals review processParticipate in BIM coordination meetingsAssist in managing project sustainability requirements and documentationSubcontract Management:Process subcontractors change requestsReview subcontractor invoicesTrack project workforce goals/vendor goalsCost Control:Manage distribution and pricing of project changesAssist in tracking labor costsAssist with material procurement and cost codingCollect and report the required information to support the Cost History DepartmentParticipate in preparation and management of Project Assessment documentsAssist with preparing Schedule of Values, Sworn Construction Statement, Invoice and other billing documents as required by our owner contractProject Meetings:Attend all project and company safety meetingsAttend foremen's meetings and draft meeting minutesConduct and provide timely documentation for construction coordination meetingsParticipate in start-up meetings and preparing documentation in conjunction with field staffAttend monthly Project Assessment and assist with documentation to managementAttend pre-installation meetings and mock-up reviewsSafety:Perform safety audits with field staffAttend project and company safety meetingsParticipate in safety trainingPost-Construction:Perform pre-punch with an aim at providing a "zero item" punch listManage the punch list processAssist in preparing final as-built plans and documentationReview project close-out documentation for accuracy and completenessOther Responsibilities:Participate in company business development activities (client functions, design firm open houses, conferences, etc.)Foster relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractorsAttend and participate in project management and other company meetingsAttend training for personal and/or professional developmentAttend company-sponsored eventsPerform functions of Project Engineer as may be necessary for projectSupport and follow standard of workParticipate in Operational Excellence Improvement events and support of the McGough WayWalk jobsite regularly to assess progressPhysical Requirements:The physical requirements listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.***In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $84,000 to $120,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
