Alumni and Outreach Coordinator

PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Alumni and Outreach Coordinator leads the development, coordination, and evaluation of programs that strengthen alumni engagement, partnerships, and outreach. This position is responsible for building a comprehensive alumni program that connects graduates of the school through academic, cultural, and community-based initiatives.All staff are expected to actively uphold and embody the mission and vision of Navajo Preparatory School. This commitment is grounded in the Navajo Prep Diné Values. Teachers are responsible for creating a learning environment that reflects these values, honors cultural identity, and supports students' development as leaders now and in the future.Working collaboratively across departments, the Alumni and Outreach Coordinator designs and implements engagement strategies that connect constituents through multiple channels, including academic programs, student activities, athletics, and institutional initiatives. The position expands and maintains systems to track alumni participation, student scholarships, outcomes, and contributions, ensuring alignment with school priorities and Allong-term advancement goals.The Alumni and Outreach Coordinator serves as the primary administrator of the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and usability across departments. This includes training staff, supporting stakeholders, data entry, and developing internal systems that strengthen institutional knowledge of alumni engagement, geographic distribution, and philanthropic participation.In addition, this role supports Navajo Preparatory School through donor relations, student engagement, and program coordination. The Alumni and Outreach Coordinator ensures effective communication, program implementation, and follow-up processes that reflect the school's commitment to student success, community impact, and stewardship.Through strategic outreach, data-informed planning, and cross-departmental collaboration, the Alumni and Outreach Coordinator advances alumni participation, strengthens institutional visibility, and builds a culture of giving back that supports the long-term sustainability of Navajo Preparatory School.This position will be for the upcoming SY 2026-2027.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Education, Business, or related field requiredMinimum of three (3) years of experience in alumni relations, outreach, communications, or program coordinationExperience with database management systemsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelinesDemonstrated ability to analyze and maintain data with a high level of accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience developing content for newsletters, social media, and web platformsAbility to train and support staff in systems and processesExperience coordinating events, programs, or stakeholder engagement initiativesKnowledge of and appreciation for Navajo/Native American culture and valuesCommitment to working collaboratively with students, staff, alumni, and community partnersNavajo /Indian Preference:Consideration for employment will be given to Navajo, American Indian, or Alaskan Tribal members with the required documentation, including the necessary qualifications to meet the minimal requirements of the position. The Navajo/Indian preference law shall apply in all aspects of the position.CLASSIFICATIONExempt: Professional position.COMPENSATIONPayment: Salary aligned with the approved NPS salary schedule.TERM OF EMPLOYMENTType of Employment: 220 Day ContractNote: Notwithstanding the above, this position is subject to possible layoff or reduction in force under NPS, Inc. Personnel Policies due to unforeseen program funding reductions that require such general program changes.SUPERVISOR(s)Primary Supervisor : Head of School for Academics and OperationsRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESSupports and carries out responsibilities in accordance with Navajo Preparatory School, Inc. (NPS) policies, procedures, and systems.Develops, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive alumni engagement program aligned with the mission and strategic priorities of Navajo Preparatory School.Expands the scope of alumni programming to include academic departments, Diné Language and Culture, athletics, student programs, and institutional initiatives.Maintains and manages the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of records.Serves as the lead trainer for Raiser's Edge, providing ongoing support and capacity-building for departments including business office to effectively enter and manage stakeholder data including donation data.Tracks and analyzes alumni data including engagement, geographic distribution, and participation in giving and school initiatives.Develops and implements strategies to increase alumni participation, including giving back through mentorship, programming, and financial contributions.Coordinates alumni events, student engagement opportunities, and outreach initiatives that strengthen connections between alumni and the school community.Collaborates with academic, student life, athletics, and advancement departments to integrate outreach initiatives school-wide.Supports Navajo Preparatory School scholarship programs, including donor relations, student engagement, selection processes, program coordination, and follow-up communication.Prepares and processes requisitions and assists in budgeting to ensure effective use of resources.Develops and manages communication strategies, including newsletters, social media content, and website updates.Supports the development of institutional messaging that highlights alumni success, impact, and connection to the school's mission.Maintains consistent and professional communication with alumni, donors, partners, and stakeholders.Supports institutional efforts to strengthen stakeholder engagement and data systems across departments.Attends and participates in all required staff meetings, professional development, and school events.Assists with school-wide events, including graduation, alumni gatherings, and community engagement initiatives.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School or designee.EVALUATIONThis will be evaluated under the policies and procedures of the Navajo Preparatory School Board, Inc.
