S/he will be responsible for completing the work scheduled for the day and assuring the accuracy of the work performed.Essential Functions• Perform construction layouts, topographic, boundary, and ALTA surveys with a 1–2-person crew• Apply knowledge and experience to guide crew members• Utilize standard survey equipment, robotics, and GPSEssential Skills for Performing the Job• Self-motivated• Detail-oriented• Professionalism• Ability to work independently or collaboratively• Mathematic aptitude• Verbal and written communication skillsRequired Education and Experience• High School Diploma or GED equivalent• 1-2 years in land surveying• 1-2 years in leading a field crew• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is helpfulOther RequirementsValid Driver’s License in good standing, demonstrating safe driving habits and capable of being insured by our company policy.Position Type/Expected HoursThis is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional hours may be requested based on workload.Physical DemandsThis position is a combination of fieldwork, travel-related work, and sedentary work. An employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds. An employee may also be required to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions.Travel Required:Regular travel will be required as a part of the Survey Crew Chief job.
